The country I'd like to visit is.....

India!! What is your image of India? Curry, sari, turban, or world heritage like the Taj Mahal? India is a country in South Asia. It shares land borders with Pakistan to the west and china and Burma to the east. It's the 7th largest country by geographical area and 2nd most populous country with over 1.2 billion people in the word.

When i was still little, my grandpa who is catholic told me about what Mother Teresa had done for poor people in India. She spent her life among the poorest of the poor. I was so moved. She was perhaps the world's most compassionate person.

When I became a sophomore, I've watched some TV programs which history and lots of world heritage of India were featured, then I felt more and more want to go to India. One day, I've got a pamphlet telling about travelling to India on volunteer work. I felt it was kind of a message from my grandpa to let me go to India. I know people might think I'm an idiot, but I decided to go to India next year (if I could save money for a trip to India LOL). I think volunteering is a noble activity, which is based on free choice and a genuine desire to help others.

And actually, I have few friends who studied with me in Canada as international students in India. I still keep in touch with them on Facebook, so I hope I can see them again down there, then my trip will be fabulous!!

Disney Movies

The media that have changed my understanding of life and way of thinking are Disney movies. For example, Snow White, Peter Pan, The Lion King, Aladdin, and so on. My parents gave me and my little sister lots of Disney movie videos when we were little, so we were raised on Disney movies.

I learned the importance of family tie and unified cooperation from Simba and Mufasa in The Lion King. And I learned if you wish and put a lot of effort, dreams come true from the Aladdin and Genie in Aladdin. In Cinderella, I learned entire life wouldn't be bad days. If I was in bad days, someday, I would have my day.

I love both the stories and music in Disney movies. Most of Disney's stories are from Grimm's fairly tales. They are contain many lessons, but I could learn in an enjoyable format and I think the Disney music helped it.

Sometimes, I still watch the Disney. I know it's kind of kidstuff, but I think it's good to flight from realty like when I feel worried and sad. And I'm always encouraged by them.

Wonderful Tokunoshima

Tokunoshima is where my dad grew up. Tokunoshima is the small island which is belonging to Kagoshima prefecture, but actually it's located closer to Okinawa prefecture. That is why Tokunoshima's culture and language(dialect) are almost same as Okinawa. There is very beautiful blue ocean, tropical fruit and throughout the year, it's warm, so nobody has outer clothes.

There are many differences between Tokunoshima and Osaka. For example, dialect of Tokunoshima has been said that it was made up with Indonesian, English, Taiwanese, and Japanese which was used during Jomon period. It's totally different from dialect of Osaka.

When I was little, I visited my grandparents. One night, I was going to lock the door properly, but my grandma said "you don't need to lock the door!" to me. People in Tokunoshima never locked the door. And surprisingly, daytime, the sometimes leave the door open! In Osaka, not only me lock the door as soon as I get home, so I just couldn't believe it and felt like so worried. I think this is not only about the custom, it's also about the humanity too because we lock the door here to prevent crimes, but in Tokunoshima, people never locked means there is no crimes!

I love such a peaceful land of Tokunoshima.

Being a sophomore of SIS, KGU

Even now, i can still remember vividly when i attended entrance ceremony. I had no friends from my high school and get into KGU, so i was kind of nervous and also excited about making new friends :) In the past year, I've got a lot of frineds so far and awesome memories with them too!
When we became sophomore, we had class transitioin and many friends went study abroad. Then, I just realised that I still didn't know many people in SIS X( I didn't even know most of people in our English class, but i thought it was good time to make new friends!
We moved a step closer to graduate which means we should act like responsible grown up for our own selves. Next year, we are going to work on a job hunting, so we should be thinking about the future. The students in SIS have to go study abroad, otherwise we would never be able to graduate. Some of the students already left Japan and the other students including me are going to leave next semester.
This year would be busy, but I'm sure it's going to be exciting year as well and I can improve my English ability more and more:3
